The Merlot grapes are grown on the eastern portion of the Celilo Vineyard.  With the varying weather conditions in the Columbia River Gorge, in some years the grapes will ripen more than others.  Our Merlot wines are full-bodied, with the characteristic natural acidity of the Columbia Gorge grapes, the combination gives a degree of "freshness" to the wines to counterbalance the rich fruit, unlike the typical Merlot found in the marketplace.

This Merlot reminds one of ripe plums mixed with dark cherries. The higher acidity livens the wine to go well with many dishes such as lunches, cheese, and meat diners as well as aperitifs. It will please everyone.
